Golob asks Von der Leyen, Michel candidate status to Bosnia

There is a "new geopolitical reality in Europe"

19 July, 14:31
(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUL 19 - Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob has urged the heads of the European Commission and Council to grant Bosnia-Herzegovina candidate country status for the EU if certain criteria are met, according to Slovenian news agency STA. According to Golob, the EU must take into account its proportionate share of blame for both the national situation and the new geopolitical landscape in Europe.

In the letter addressed to Ursula von der Leyen and Charles Michel, dated 8 July and published by the government on Twitter on Tuesday, Golob noted that before being granted the status, Bosnia-Herzegovina must pass a law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council and a law on public procurement.

Therefore, the country deserves the candidate status. (ANSA).
