(ANSA) - BELGRADE, DEC 7 - On December 8, the Justice ministers of the European Union are scheduled to meet to decide whether to accept Croatia, Romania, and Bulgaria into the Schengen region, which allows more than 400 million people to travel freely among its member states. The EU Council stated on its official website that "ministers will discuss the full application of the Schengen acquis in Bulgaria, Croatia, and Romania and will aim to adopt decisions on this matter." In addition, ministers will evaluate the overall condition of the Schengen region. Austria and the Netherlands have expressed opposition to Romania's and Bulgaria's accession, while no country has expressed concern about Croatia's readiness, according to international media.
