(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 23 - Italian rock band Måneskin have said the party-animal image many people have of them is way off the mark.
    The false accusation that lead singer Damiano David snorted cocaine live in TV on the night of the group's triumph at Eurovision Song Contest in 2021 has fed into this image, even though David took a drugs tests to disprove it.
    "I think the view people have of us, and of me, it's very off-target," David told the Guardian.
    "People think we behave like the Sex Pistols, or Mötley Crüe, but we're nothing like that.
    "We've got more educated on the risks of drugs and how they affect your body. I don't even drink alcohol any more." The band, who first won fame in Italy by taking part in the X Factor and have enjoyed major international success since winning Eurovision, released their latest album, Rush!, last week. (ANSA).
