Rome to get 'autumn clean' under new Mayor Gualtieri

Extraordinary operation to start November 1

(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 22 - Rome is set to get an extraordinary clean-up as of November 1, according to a plan new Mayor Roberto Gualtieri presented to the heads of the capital's boroughs late on Thursday, sources said Friday.
The 'autumn clean' will include operations to remove trash piles, the unblocking of clogged-up storm-drain holes in streets and the trimming of out-of-control vegetation.
The poor cleanliness of the city and big problems with trash management were among the main complaints directed against Gualtieri's predecessor, Virginia Raggi.
Gualtieri is a former economy minister and a member of the centre-left Democratic Party (PD). (ANSA).
